Boeing 737 MAX orders rebound strongly
Order Surge
Boeing has secured over 500 new 737 MAX orders in the past quarter, the strongest booking period since before the aircraft's grounding. Major customers include United Airlines, Southwest, and several Asian carriers.
The orders are valued at approximately $60 billion at list prices, though airlines typically receive significant discounts.
Safety Certification
Aviation regulators in China and Indonesia, two holdout markets, have finally recertified the 737 MAX for commercial service. The approvals open the world's two fastest-growing aviation markets to Boeing.
Boeing has implemented extensive safety improvements and enhanced pilot training requirements.
Production Ramp
Boeing plans to increase 737 MAX production to 50 aircraft per month by late 2026, up from the current 38. The ramp-up will require significant workforce expansion at Boeing's Renton, Washington facility.
